Robert Gibiaqui is a professional drummer was born in Caracas - Venezuela. A passion for music has been with him since childhood and he began playing the drums at an early age.


He has performed in International Festivals such as:

He has also played and/or recorded with: Sergey Lazarev, The Pinker Tones. Mendetz, Carlos Sadness, Brazzaville, Manu Chao (percussion record), Desorden Publico, Soma Raza, Che Sudaka, Los Amayas, Capitan Melao, Chulius and the Filarmonicos, Caballo, Pirats Sound Systema, Le Pico, Ultraplayback, Murfila, Interphono, Una Mika (theater company) and among others.

He went touring over 14th month (2008-2009) with the Russian Popstar Sergey Lazarev He represented Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm Sweden finishing in third place, and also won MTV Music Award "Artist of the Year" 2008.


In 2010 - 2011 he was on tour with the electronic band from Barcelona The Pinker Tones and the band has very important toured for three weeks around United State in 2011.


Robert was on tour from 2011 - 2018 with the Barcelona´s electronic pop band Mendetz, from 2017 until 2020 with Carlos Sadness and now is the new drummer from DORIAN band from Barcelona.

Also is working like session drummer for MIX66 Studio in Cambridge UK.

Robert use Highwood drums company UK, also use electronic equipment Roland on tour from 2013, with the support from Roland Iberia Spain.


Robert studied drumset with differents teachers: José Mato, Juan Luis Castaño and Luis Tomas Garcia; additionally, he attended master classes with Horácio "El Negro" Hernandez and Kenny Aronoff and finished his studies at the Music Conservatory “Jose Angel Lamas” in Caracas.


He has received award nominations Pop & Rock - Awards as: “The Best Drummer” in 1999, 2000 and 2001.


Robert has lived in Barcelona since 1999 when he moved with his band mate Soma Raza to be permanently established in Spain.
